Go slow at work

Sent in by: Maggie Kazel (RAAN)

Are you an overwhelmed, underpaid, stressed out harm reduction worker? Everyone coming at you? Lots of requests? Do the opposite. Rather than speed up, and try to do it all … go slow. Have a race with another harm reduction worker. See who can accomplish the day’s tasks the slowest. Seriously. Walk from room to room slower than you need to, hand out supplies in slow motion, pause and pause again before answering a question … you’ll not regret it. Racing to your destination may cause regret, but simmering along will help you not boil over …

Thanks to an anonymous physician – and colleague – who both survived med school and residency this way.
